Biography:

English painter of portraits, genre and historical subjects. He studied for two years at the Lincoln School of Art, then under Edward Poynter and for three years at the Royal Academy Schools. From 1883 to 1884, he was a pupil of William Bougereau in Paris.
He began exhibiting at the Royal Academy of London from 1883, as well as the New Watercolor Society, the Grosvenor Gallery and the New Gallery. He lived and worked in London.
